Research on the urban renewal of the Oude Westen district in Rotterdam was presented in a series of projects under the framework of “West Side Stories” at the Office for Metropolitan Information (OMI), a collaboration between ArchitectuurMaken (Nina Aalbers and Ferry ‘T Veld), Studio Verter (Roxane van Hoof and Claudio Saccucci) and Charlie Koolhaas, in Winter of 2019.
For West Side Stories 1, Charlie Koolhaas recorded the neighborhood in photographs and produced a photographic map of the district. For West Side Stories 2, Charlie created a series of photo-sculptures of the Oude Westen.
